Alternate Address Layout
When printing labels or envelopes from ContactEase, a Layout is used to determine which fields are printed. In some instances, you may wish to override the default mailing address for a contact. This is where an alternate address layout can be helpful.

Label Layout Overview
In the example shown, the label description is designated as Domestic. The data fields identified in the Label Text box are specific to the Domestic layout and will be included when the labels are printed. When selected, the address used will be the primary business address.
In most cases, you will likely want to send holiday cards to your clients at their offices in which case the Domestic layout is fine. Let's say a lawyer has developed a special relationship with their client and would like to send a card to the family. Creating an alternate layout will allow the card to be sent to another address.

Alternate Layout Categories
To create an alternate layout, we'll designate a Category and assign it to those contacts we'd like to use the home (or other non-primary) address.
In the example shown, you can see we've designated, "Mailing - home" for our alternate layout. The parent category, "Holiday Card" must also be checked.
Next, we'll mark the contacts for whom the alternate layout will be used. Only those contacts to whom you'd like to use the alternate layout need to be marked.
When defining your categories, there are two requirements for the layout category:
- It must be a sub-category.
- It must have the exact same name as the sub-category.

Alternate Layout Salutation
If you wish to include a name other than the contact name, you may wish to create a field in the contact record to include whenever the alternate layout is used. In the example shown, we've created a "Home Salutation."
