Locating Records: Scroll Bar

If you want to see all records in your database, use the Toolbar option: View All Records or go to View > View All Records to load your firm's entire ContactEase database to the List View window.

Once the records have loaded, you can use the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the List View window to position anywhere in the list of records.

Locating Records: Alphabet Bar

Another way to locate records in the List View display is with the optional Alphabet toolbar.

To add the Alphabet toolbar to your display, go to View > Toolbars and check the Alphabet Bar box.

Once the Alphabet bar is visible, you can click on any letter and the records matching that letter will remain in the display.

In the example shown, clicking on the letter K will display all records beginning with the letter K, based on your Quick Find settings.  The default Quick Find settings are Company and Last Name; therefore we will see all Companies and Last Names that begin with the letter K.

If Quick Find is disabled, the display will continue to show all of the records, but position the display beginning with the first record starting with K for the selected column.

To display All Records, click the arrow icon preceding the letter A in the Alphabet toolbar.

Locating Records: Quick Find Enabled

If Quick Find is enabled, you can temporarily add another column to the search by selecting that column.  In the example shown, when K is selected you will see all Companies and Last Names (default setting) beginning with that letter.  If you then click on the column City, it will add all records where the City begins with the letter K to the displayed list. That's why we see Scott Rice from Kansas City in the list.
