Relationships

ContactEase allows you to create relationships by linking a contact record to other records in your database. You can also identify relationships that are not connected to other records in ContactEase. These are known as unlinked relationships.

The Relations tab can tell you quite a bit about the relationships that exist among the contact records in your database.

1. The Relations tab is where you can view relationship details and create relationships to other records or capture relationships that are not linked in the database.

2. You easily add new relationships for a contact by clicking this icon.

3. Unlinked relationships are not connected to other records. Note the absence of an arrow by Paula Preston's name.

4. Linked relationships (meaning relationships with those contacts residing in your database) are designated with an arrow. Click on the arrow to display that contact record.

5. A description of the relationship appears in the details section of the display.

Add a Relationship

To add a relationship, click the New icon to open the Relationship window. Enter the relationship details.

If you're adding a relationship for a contact that doesn't exist in ContactEase, simply type the name into the Name field. If the contact resides in ContactEase, click the "Link to" button.

You can either type the nature of the relationship into the boxes or select from the dropdown lists.

Once you've entered the relationship details, click OK and it will appear in the Relations tab.
